Lhasa Apso A Perfect Apartment Dog

Lhasa Apso is small breed with a beautiful straight shroud of hair parting down from their head to tail. The breed originated in the Himalayan Mountains. For years they were bred as a watch dog of Tibetan nobility and Buddhist monasteries. The Lhasa's suspicion of strangers is a quality prized by the Tibetans.

They come in several colors blond, brown and black. Being a small breed with height 8 to 11 inches and weigh between 5 to 9 kg makes the breed an ultimate Apartment dog.

Having been bred as an indoor monastery sentinel dog Lhasa Apsos are very alert and have a keen sense of hearing. You will not believe the size after hearing his loaded and sonorous bark. The Lhasa temperament is to be suspicious of strangers while being very loyal to those of the owners. Apsos are companion dogs who wish to please his owner. They are very intelligent breed and will make you laugh with their intense love for belongings.

The breed often show his happiness by rubbing his head on the owner’s feet, running and rolling around, or sitting on their owner's feet. They enjoy vantage points so that they can view all that is going on in the house. They aim to please their owners and enjoy exercise. If properly trained early as a puppy, they will appreciate hair combing and clipping. The Lhasa Apso is a long-lived breed and with many are seen living in good health into their early 20s.
Lhasa Apso is a true companion I can say that without doubt as I myself have one, the picture is of my own Lhasa Apso (Hunny). He is very much happy being in my apartment and is not only a prefect apartment dog but also idyllic watchdog.
